append a list to another list python code example

Example 1: python array append

my_list = ['a','b']
my_list.append('c')
print(my_list)      # ['a','b','c']

other_list = [1,2]
my_list.append(other_list)
print(my_list)      # ['a','b','c',[1,2]]

my_list.extend(other_list)
print(my_list)      # ['a','b','c',[1,2],1,2]

Example 2: append python

List = ["One", "value"]

List.append("to add") # "to add" can also be an int, a foat or whatever"

#List is now ["One", "value","to add"]

#Or

List2 = ["One", "value"]
# "to add" can be any type but IT MUST be in a list
List2 += ["to add"] # can be seen as List2 = List2 + ["to add"]

#List2 is now ["One", "value", "to add"]

Example 3: python how to add one list to another list

# Basic syntax:
first_list.append(second_list) # Append adds the the second_list as an
#	element to the first_list
first_list.extend(second_list) # Extend combines the elements of the
#	first_list and the second_list

# Note, both append and extend modify the first_list in place

# Example usage for append:
first_list = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
second_list = [6, 7, 8, 9]
first_list.append(second_list)
print(first_list)
--> [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, [6, 7, 8, 9]]

# Example usage for extend:
first_list = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
second_list = [6, 7, 8, 9]
first_list.extend(second_list)
print(first_list)
--> [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9]

Example 4: append object python

>>> L = [1, 2, 3, 4]
>>> L.append(5)
>>> L
[1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Example 5: python add all values of another list

a = [1, 2, 3]
b = [4, 5, 6]
a += b
# another way: a.extend(b)

Example 6: extend in list python

subjects=["Maths","Science","Arts","Commerce"]
subjects_2=["Artificial intelligence","Statistics"]
subjects.extend(subjects_2)
print(subjects) ## used to add more elements from other list
