Example 1: convert string to float python

string = "88.88"
print(float(string))
# output
# 88.88

Example 2: cast as float python

not_float = '.0975'
is_float  =  .0986

print(not_float)
print(is_float)

# Notice this won't work 
# new_number = not_float + is_float

# This will convert it to a float
new_number = float(not_float) + is_float

print(new_number)
