Example 1: change user linuxcommand ch

chown USER:GROUP FILE

Change the user and grop for an entire folder:
chown -R USER:GROUP FILE

Example 2: chown command

sudo chown www-data:www-data -R assets/ data/

Example 3: chown

Examples
chown root /u
Change the owner of /u to "root".
chown root:staff /u
Likewise, but also change its group to "staff".
chown -hR root /u
Change the owner of /u and subfiles to "root".

Example 4: linux chown

chown [OPTIONS] USER[:GROUP] FILE(s)
