It's just what you see when you go to the home page. There's also extensive unit tests if you look at the source code that should give you lots of examples. There's really not a whole lot to it -- if you have specific questions you can ask new ones here on SO.

There's no information on connecting to the db that I can see with a quick browse

There is more than 150 online examples: https://dapper-tutorial.net/online-examples. Almost every page have some online example that connects to a real SQL Server database.

However, you are right about advertising. We started to discuss about how to reduce them last week.
