git connect to remote repository code example

Example 1: git add remote

$ git remote add origin https://github.com/user/repo.git
# Set a new remote

$ git remote -v
# Verify new remote
> origin  https://github.com/user/repo.git (fetch)
> origin  https://github.com/user/repo.git (push)

Example 2: connect local repository to remote git

git remote add origin <remote repository URL>
# Sets the new remote
git remote -v
# Verifies the new remote URL
git push origin master

Example 3: show remote git

# when you are not connected to the network, you can use this
git config --get remote.origin.url

Example 4: github remote

echo "# HarryFoods" >> README.md
git init
