Example 1: git remove remote

$ git remote -v
# View current remotes
> origin  https://github.com/OWNER/REPOSITORY.git (fetch)
> origin  https://github.com/OWNER/REPOSITORY.git (push)
> destination  https://github.com/FORKER/REPOSITORY.git (fetch)
> destination  https://github.com/FORKER/REPOSITORY.git (push)

$ git remote rm destination
# Remove remote
$ git remote -v
# Verify it's gone
> origin  https://github.com/OWNER/REPOSITORY.git (fetch)
> origin  https://github.com/OWNER/REPOSITORY.git (push)

Example 2: git remove folder remotely

git rm -r --cached <folder>
git commit -m "Removed Folder"
git push origin master

Example 3: remove folders from remote git

git rm -r --cached FolderName
git commit -m "Removed folder from repository"
git push origin master

Example 4: git remove remote file keep local

# for single file
git rm --cached myfile

# for directory file
git rm --cached --r myfile

Example 5: git remove from folder

rm -rf .git
