how to make a python file an exe code example

Example 1: code for making an exe file for python

pip install pyinstaller

cd PathOfFile

pyinstaller --onefile -w ScriptName.py

(note that if you are using -w then your python file has to be an application and the file will be inside the "dist" folder)

Example 2: python to exe

pip install pyinstaller

cd FullPathOfFile in cmd console
pyinstaller --onefile pythonScriptName.py
# a .exe file is created in the FullPathOfFile\dist

Example 3: how to run a .exe through python

import os
os.startfile("C:\Documents and Settings\flow_model\flow.exe")

Example 4: pyinstaller make exe

1. pip install pyinstaller

2. cd to your file directory in the commandline

3. pyinstaller yourprogram.py
