Example 1: express js params
app.get('/path/:name', function(req, res) { // url: /path/test
console.log(req.params.name); // result: test
});
// OR
app.get('/path', function(req, res) { // url: /path?name='test'
console.log(req.query['name']); // result: test
});
Example 2: express get params after ?
GET /something?color1=red&color2=blue
app.get('/something', (req, res) => {
req.query.color1 === 'red' // true
req.query.color2 === 'blue' // true
})
Example 3: node js express url parameters
// http://localhost:8080/api/1
app.get('/api/:version', function(req, res) {
res.send(req.params.version);
});
Example 4: app.get
const express = require('express');
const app = express();
const { getElementById, getIndexById, updateElement,
seedElements, createElement } = require('./utils');
const PORT = process.env.PORT || 4001;

} else {

}
});
// Get all animals
app.get('/animals', (req, res, next) => {

});
// Get a single animal
app.get('/animals/:id', (req, res, next) => {
const animal = getElementById(req.params.id, animals);

}
});
// Update an animal
app.put('/animals/:id', (req, res, next) => {
const animalIndex = getIndexById(req.params.id, animals);
if (animalIndex !== -1) {
updateElement(req.params.id, req.query, animals);
res.send(animals[animalIndex]);

// Delete a single animal
app.delete('/animals/:id', (req, res, next) => {

res.status(204).send();
} else {
res.status(404).send();
}
});
app.listen(PORT, () => {
console.log(`Server is listening on ${PORT}`);
});
Example 5: express route parameters
app.get('/users/:userId/books/:bookId', function (req, res) {
res.send(req.params)
})
Example 6: req.params req.query
req.params contains route parameters (in the path portion of the URL),
and req.query contains the URL query parameters (after the ? in the URL).
You can also use req.param(name) to look up a parameter in both places (as well as req.body),
