Several alternatives:

Directory.GetParent(Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().Location)

System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory

Only in VB:

My.Application.Info.DirectoryPath

this is useful for you: Application.ExecutablePath equals to:

Process.GetCurrentProcess().MainModule.FileName;
