INSERT * INTO sql code example

Example 1: sql insert query

--sql insert quest example
INSERT INTO table_name (column1, column2, column3, ...)
VALUES (value1, value2, value3, ...);

Example 2: sql insert

-- Note: This is specifically for SQL - Oracle
-- ---------------------------------------------------------------
-- OPTION 1: Insert specific values (other values will be null)

-- syntax
INSERT INTO <TABLE_NAME> (<column1>,<column2>,<column3>,...)
VALUES (<value1>,<value2>,<value3>,...);

-- example
INSERT INTO SALES (SALE_ID,ITEM_ID,QUANTITY,AMOUNT)
VALUES (631,13,4,59.99);
-- ---------------------------------------------------------------
-- OPTION 2: Insert a value for every field

-- syntax
INSERT INTO <TABLE_NAME> VALUES (<value1>,<value2>,...,<valueN>);

-- example (SALES table only consists of 4 columns)
INSERT INTO SALES VALUES (631,13,4,59.99);
-- ---------------------------------------------------------------

Example 3: insert into

INSERT INTO client (prenom, nom, ville, age)
 VALUES
 ('Rébecca', 'Armand', 'Saint-Didier-des-Bois', 24),
 ('Aimée', 'Hebert', 'Marigny-le-Châtel', 36),
 ('Marielle', 'Ribeiro', 'Maillères', 27),
 ('Hilaire', 'Savary', 'Conie-Molitard', 58);

Example 4: insert in to table sql

It is possible to write the INSERT INTO statement in two ways:

1. Specify both the column names and the values to be inserted:
INSERT INTO table_name (column1, column2, column3, ...)
VALUES (value1, value2, value3, ...);

2. If you are adding values for all the columns of the table, you do not need to specify the column names in the SQL query. However, make sure the order of the values is in the same order as the columns in the table. Here, the INSERT INTO syntax would be as follows:
INSERT INTO table_name
VALUES (value1, value2, value3, ...);

Example 5: sql insert to values

INSERT INTO name (...)
VALUES (...)
Used alongside the INSERT INTO keyword to add new values to a table.
Example: Adds a new car to the cars table.
INSERT INTO cars (name, model, year)
VALUES ('Ford', 'Fiesta', 2010);

Example 6: insert to a table sql

INSERT INTO table_name (column1, column2, column3, ...)
VALUES (value1, value2, value3, ...);
