list index out of range [-] code example

Example 1: IndexError: list index out of range

# This means that you have tried to access an
# index that is not within the range of your list!
# For example, if your list is
exampleList = [0, 1, 2, 3, 4]
# then you can't access
exampleList[5]
# because lists are indexed from 0 in most languages,
# so the last index in exampleList is 4.

# You might typically see this inside a for loop where you're
# iterating through the list, but maybe it looped past the last index.

Example 2: python list index out of range

"You're probably trying to access a value that doesn't"
"exist or cant be obtained at the moment."

Example 3: python list index out of range

#this will result in an IndexError
arr = ['item',1,None,'hi']
error = arr[10]

Example 4: IndexError: list index out of range

#if you are trying to access/call Non-existed value from the list then you will get this error
list1 =[1,2,3,4]
print(list1[4]) #index of 4 not existed in this list1 so then you will get this type of errors.
#Ex:
#index 0-->1
#index 1-->2
#index 2-->3
#index 3-->4
#index 4-->Not defined.

Example 5: list index out of range

def sort_list(l):
    l=list(l)
    for i in l:
        if l[i]<=l[i+1]:
            return True
        else:
            return False
