Example 1: mysql order by

To get the sorted result from MySQL select statement we use order by clause with SELECT statement.

Syntax:
SELECT column_list FROM tablename ORDER BY column_name1 [ASC][DESC],column_name2 [ASC][DESC],...

Example 2: ascending order mysql

SELECT 
   column_name1, column_name2, column_name3
FROM 
   table_name
ORDER BY 
   column_name1 [ASC|DESC], 
   column_name2 [ASC|DESC],
   ...;

Example 3: condition in orderby mysql

SELECT orders.status, orders.created_at
FROM `orders`
ORDER BY
  status='new' DESC,
  status='processing' DESC,
  CASE WHEN status IN ('new', 'processing') THEN created_at END ASC,
  CASE WHEN status NOT IN ('new', 'processing') THEN created_at END DESC
