Example 1: python set &

>>> A = {0, 2, 4, 6, 8};
>>> B = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5};

>>> print("Union :", A | B)  
Union : {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8}

>>> print("Intersection :", A & B)
Intersection : {2, 4}

>>> print("Difference :", A - B)
Difference : {0, 8, 6}

# elements not present both sets
>>> print("Symmetric difference :", A ^ B)   
Symmetric difference : {0, 1, 3, 5, 6, 8}

Example 2: add element in set python

thisset = {"apple", "banana", "cherry"}

thisset.add("orange")

print(thisset)

Example 3: inser elemts into a set in python

list1 = [1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5]
set1 = set(list1)
set1.add(6)			# gets inserted in the set if it does not already exist
set1.add(5)			# gets ignored as it already exists in the set
