Example 1: python list .remove

a = [10, 20, 30, 20]
a.remove(20)
# a = [10, 30, 20]
# removed first instance of argument

Example 2: python split list

string = 'this is a python string'
wordList = string.split(' ')

Example 3: cut a section out of a list python

>>> [1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8][:5]
[1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
>>> [1,2,3][:5]
[1, 2, 3]
>>> x = [6,7,8,9,10,11,12]
>>> x[:5]
[6, 7, 8, 9, 10]
