Random number c++ in some range
You can use the random functionality included within the additions to the standard library (TR1). Or you can use the same old technique that works in plain C:
25 + ( std::rand() % ( 63 - 25 + 1 ) )
Since nobody posted the modern C++ approach yet,
#include <iostream>
#include <random>
int main()
{
std::random_device rd; // obtain a random number from hardware
std::mt19937 gen(rd()); // seed the generator
std::uniform_int_distribution<> distr(25, 63); // define the range
for(int n=0; n<40; ++n)
std::cout << distr(gen) << ' '; // generate numbers
}
int range = max - min + 1;
int num = rand() % range + min;
