Example 1: clone specific branch

git clone --single-branch --branch <branchname> <remote-repo>

Example 2: specific branch clone git

git clone -b <branch> <remote_repo>
git clone -b my-branch [email protected]:user/myproject.git

Example 3: git clone single branch

# clone only the remote primary HEAD (default: origin/master)
git clone <url> --single-branch

# as in:
