git undo last commit after push code example

Example 1: git undo last commit

$ git reset --soft HEAD~1

Example 2: git revert last commit unpushed

git reset --soft HEAD~1

Example 3: revert last push to server

git reset --hard HEAD@{1}
git push -f

Example 4: git remove commits from branch after push

git reset --hard <last_working_commit_id>
So we must not reset to the commit_id that we don't want.

Then sure, we must push to remote branch:

git push --force

Example 5: github cancel last push

# to undo a git push
git push -f origin HEAD^:master

# to get to previous commit (preserves working tree)
git reset --soft HEAD

# to get back to previous commit (you'll lose working tree)
git reset --hard HEAD^

Example 6: undo git commit after push

git reset <hash> # Run this then merge, commit, and push
