Example 1: How to upload a files to a repository on github using gitbash

git init
git add .
git commit -m "message for the commit"
git remote add origin https://url-of-github-repo
git push origin master or git push -f origin master

Example 2: uploading a folder to github

git init
     git add <folder1> <folder2> <etc.>
     git commit -m "Your message about the commit"
     git remote add origin https://github.com/yourUsername/yourRepository.git
     git push -u origin master
     git push origin master
