Example 1: how to revert a commit

git reset --soft HEAD@{1} # delete the last commit keeping the changes
git reset --hard HEAD@{1} # delete the last commit removing the changes

git push --force origin master # delete the last commit also on remote branch

Example 2: revert commit git

git revert <commit hash>

Example 3: git revert all commits to pervious commit

git revert --no-commit <commithash>..HEAD #revert changes in range of commits from head to back to that commit hash

Example 4: how to revert a git revert

git revert <commitHashOfTheRevert> # locate the hash the revert was done 
                             #this will invert the changes made in that commit
                             #and preserve the git history
