Example 1: git undo commit

# Uncommit the changes
git reset --soft HEAD~1

# Completely delete the changes
git reset --hard HEAD~1

Example 2: git undo last commit

$ git reset --soft HEAD~1

Example 3: git cancel last commit

git reset --soft HEAD~1

Example 4: undo last commit

#this  will preserve changes done to your files
git reset --soft HEAD~1

#this will get rid of the commit and the changes done to the files
$ git reset --hard HEAD~1

Example 5: how to abandon changes and go last commit

#ignore all changes, and back to last commit 

git add .
